A big fascination of mine has always been colour. But in particular colour combination. It has always amazed me to watch really talented stylists and designers work with subtle colour pallets that ooze of a deep understanding of the essence and impact of colour. Emotion can be evoqued and statements can be made. Styling can be rude and simplistic but then again it can be subtle and complex. To see a stylist who connects to the material and who can tell a visual story with fingertip precision, can be truly captivating.
My editorial inspiration is photographed by Horst Diekgerdes for Numéro, together with stylist Samuel François.
To this I have chosen as master of subtleties Bon Iver with Wolves. They have the ability to capture the dynamics of emotions, through harmonies that are slightly disconant, and therefore imperfect seperately, but they come together to express something so clear in its simplicity that it becomes inescapably intimate.
Lots of love /Kim
